We look forward to seeing you in person this year May 17-18, 2024 for all kinds of hands-on education. School groups will attend during the day on May 17th and then everyone is welcome to join in the fun starting at 4:00 pm on May 17th and continuing through May 18th.  

Some education opportunities last year were: climbing wall, archery, wildlife disease walk with the Game and Fish Disease Lab, orienteering course, air rifle range, fish culture and hatcheries, Wyoming PBS Science kids series, and much more!

You’ll need the following materials and a parent’s help in order to follow along with the DNA extraction:

  • 1-2 pieces of fruit (strawberries, banana, kiwi, peach, etc.)
  • 2 pinches of table salt
  • 1 tablespoon clear shampoo
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 quart zip lock bag
  • Cold isopropyl
  • Coffee filter
  • Clear cup (plastic or glass)
  • Bowl of ice
  • Knife (to cut fruit)
  • Hot water in a pan or bowl
  • Paper towel
